Friday Is 3 PM to 7 PM

Here's another apostrophe from Jason in New Jersey:

Friday is 3 pm to 7 pm and farmer is market.

Thanks, Jason!

It was always my understanding that an apostrophe CAN be used to denote possession, thus "Farmer's Market" is technically correct but only if the market belongs to only ONE farmer. The correct version should read: "Farmers' Market".

Yes, I agree. Also some people believe that it should be "Farmers Market" (without an apostrophe) to show that the market is *for* farmers not *owned by* farmers.

Alternatively, one could argue, under heavy fire probably, that Farmer’s Market could be correct, if one considers it to be a market for a generic kind of farmer.
